"Five stars, hands down! Our tour in Ahki's wonderful cacao forest and farm was an incredible experience while visiting Costa Rica's Caribbean coast! Ahki generously shared his vast knowledge of the ecology of forests/jungles in general and of growing cacao in particular - all very fascinating! While explaining how cacao grows on trees, what impacts their growth, the fermentation process before drying and roasting (who knew!?), the relationship and history of cacao and the indigenous Bribri people, among other great gems of wisdom, [...] The walk through the forest of cacao, fruits, flowers, trees, and medicinal plants was magical. Ahki is an exceptional guy as well as his daughter, both with a constant smile and a lot of wisdom they take you through their property with very kind attitude, explaining all the details of sustainable cacao cultivation.
